The summer drought meant the pond water levels were very low, and the new liner hasn’t properly been tested. Now the pond has been filled again (thanks to hard-working volunteers who pumped water from the dyke) we are keeping an eye on water levels to see how well the pond is holding water.
It’s lovely to see it looking like a proper pond again, benefitting the wildlife of the reserve. We’ll continue to follow expert advice on the management of the pond, ensuring there is a good mix of native plants to support a range of wildlife.
