As The Hook becomes wilder and some areas have no human access, so wildlife is moving in. Muntjac and roe deer range through the wildlife corridor and can sometimes be seen on The Hook. Foxes inhabit the less accessible areas, using the river access corridor for their hunting expeditions. Other sightings have included badgers, field voles and stoat. Water voles have previously been recorded in the dyke and it is hoped that, as the site continues to develop in biodiversity, they will make a return.
